Add, subtract, multiply, and divide positive and negative integers
Your goal is to be able to consistently finish a worksheet in 5 minutes or less without any errors.


• What you need to know
  • If you are multiplying or dividing
    • The answer is positive if there are no negative factors or
      if there is an even number of negative factors
      (Even number of minus signs or no minus signs - - - - answer is positive)
    • The answer is negative if there is an odd number of negative factors
      (Odd number of minus signs - - - - answer is negative)
  • If you are adding or subtracting
    • Clear all double operators first
      Replace every -- with a +
      Replace every +- with a -
    • The sign in front of a number is part of the number
      If the sign is negative the number is on the negative team
      If the sign is positive the number is on the positive team
    • Add all the negative numbers together to get the score for the negative team
      Add all the positive numbers together to get the score for the positive team
      The team with the most points wins
    • The sign of the answer is the sign of the winning team
      The value of the answer is the number of points the winning team beat the loosing team by
